Dear Liviu Librescu;
I may have never known you in person, or even heard about you before the news, but I know it would’ve been an honor. I’m sure many of us never knew you either. I know this is weird making such a dedication. If there is another world, I do hope you are in peace, and if you do walk the world, I pray you may see this. I know it’s not much, but it’s really all I can do.
I know that there are some people who don’t watch the news and aren’t updated, and made this in hope that they may come across it. I wish for you to get the praise you truly deserve. There aren’t many Heroes like you out there; you truly were one in a million. I can assure you that you will always be remembered, even if only by me, your students, your family and friends.
After I heard about you on the news, I was in tears, though I cannot say that’s a rare thing. To survive the Holocaust and then go on to protect your class has to be the definition of strength and bravery. Many of us say we’ve had our fair share of burdens, but if that is the case, I do not know what on Earth to call what you went through. You went above and beyond. Thank you for that.
